After receiving notification of the availability of Open Office 4.1.0, in which it was stated that the update was suitable for Mac OS X 10.3 onwards, I downloaded the relevant file … noting that it stated:

However when I attempted to run the instal, a message was displayed indicating that this could not proceed as my version of Mac OS X was not suitable - I run OS X 10.6.8.Libreoffice For Mac 10.6.8 Free

The current Apache OpenOffice supports Apple OS X version 10.7 (Lion), 10.8 (Mountain Lion), 10.9 (Mavericks), 10.10 (Yosemite), 10.11 (El Capitan) and macOS 10.12 (Sierra), 10.13 (High Sierra), 10.14 (Mojave), 10.15 (Catalina).
The last OpenOffice version supporting Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger), 10.5 (Leopard), 10.6 (Snow Leopard) is OpenOffice 4.0.1.
